GAWKER'S TWIN

The Twin Cities has sprung a Gawker-wannabe: MNspeak. Its creators are Chuck Olsen of Blogumentary and Rex Sorgatz of fimoculous.

MNspeak sports an aggregator of Minnesotan blogs. Despite the blueness of Minnesota, the aggregator gives the impression of a sea of red.

Pretty neat. Plus, we get to lord it over the Nihilist, who didn't make the aggregation cut, despite its recent Gawker-like in-depth discussion of skankiness (and number 5 is even a skank with local connections).

UPDATE: No more lording. Nihilist made the grade.

We're way too controversial for them.

Yeah. The Kool Aid Report is far more acceptable to the masses.

My theory is that an Elvis-impersonation rivalry is affecting their judgment.

Thanks for noticing... suffice to say, we're still tweaking our, uhh, complex formulas for political balance. We might rotate some blogs in and out to include more blogs without having the page be ten miles long.

160 unique hits a day (ranking us near the top of MOB blogs) can hardly be called "the masses".
